Vintage '72 on E-Bay!

What does that have for a treble pickup in it? Is that a new high gain, or something else entirely? All I can see are the lines and they actually look a little too far apart and too long for a new high gain. Nice bass.

That's a Seymour Duncan replacement humbucking treble pickup with 2 "sharkfin" polepieces, Bob. Looks like this in its package.

The original treble pickup of that '73 was included when she was sold on ebay a while ago.

The SD replacement neck PU looks like this.
I don't think it will fit the stock 4001/4003 pickguard nicely.

Hello Bob, how's the weather there in Lima? I think the TRC is a replacement only because the finish looks brighter outlining it. If you look closely at the pic you'll see this, like it originally had a slightly larger TRC. Maybe it's a reflection of light? Most white Ric's had the black pickguard and TRC. This could have been a special order though I doubt it. I'm in no way knocking the colour scheme! I also think the white on white is very classy and I have the same white TRC and pickguard on my white '79. When I first saw the pic Paul posted I thought it was mine.

Hi Dan, It's winter here, so one day is nice (like today, it's probably 65 out and sunny) and another day is maybe 55-60 and gloomy, but it certainly beats Massachusetts in the winter.
I noticed that also but it has a screened TRC cover so I just assumed it was original,I actually questioned the finish a little because it looks so glossy, but those white on whites are my favorite color basses anyway, even if it was a refinish I would buy it. One of those is definitely on my want list. There is a picture early this year in BassPlayer of Barry Gibb right after he died and he has a nice early 70's W/W with a toaster in it.

That Jetglo is very nice. If I didn't already have a JG V63, I'd be tempted to bid. My next RIC will be a FG 4004Cii/8. No I havn't placed my order yet, I'll wait until the actual production begins, if it ever does. I would also like to see chrome hardware as an option, I'm not crazy about the gold but I guess I could live with it. Owen, have you picked up your 73 yet? How about some pics when you do? Bob, I wish I could say the same about the winters here on the east coast! It's really no surprize the white one was pulled. I'm certain the seller was bombarded with e-mail questions he couldn't answer. Kind of like the cream 68 I seen a while back that was pulled and re-listed and pulled again.

Prices seem pretty solid for the vintage basses at present. It will be interesting to see how much the jetglo makes..Also, there,s a cool white fretless that,s just appeared on the bay...
