Orange Bass Amps

I went back to CME yesterday and checked out that Orange AD200B again with a nice 4003. This time it was hooked up to the Orange 4x10 and I also plugged in the 1x15 after a while.

Its a cool amp, but this time I decided that its a little too distorted. If you like crazy, real tube distortion on your bass, then it may be what you're looking for. My problem with it is that it was hard to get a clean sound out of it. My all-tube Ampegs will get a nice clean sound pretty easily. But with the Orange I kept turning the gain down until it was down to about 1. It was more clean then, but still not totally clean. I think my Ampegs(SVT CL and B15-R) have a better balance of clean to overdriven tones to choose from.
