At work, those bands and the rap/hiphop are blaring daily on the Interscope floors. I don't hear much I care for. Wolfmother, Snow Patrol, AAF, I could go on... I would say Wolfmother is the one I notice.

Snow Patrol has an upbeat catchy tune called "Shut Your Eyes", maybe that might appeal to you? I absolutely love these guys...almost every single song. Apparently they've been pretty big for awhile but blew up really big this last year.
For anyone here who likes their sound, you should check out The Reindeer Section. It's a group that Lightbody, the lead singer of Snow Patrol, formed one drunken night after a show. When he sobered up the next day he wrote an album worth of songs on his acoustic and got folks together from bands like Mogwai, Belle & Sebastian, Arab Strap and Mull Historical Society, oh and the drummer was the SP drummer.
I appreciate ALL sorts of music and they certainly don't have many driving Geddy Lee style bass lines but their songs are so damn touching....I believe.

Catchy, and as JimK said, I've heard worse. Beats rap all to hell.
I wish I could tell a story in a lyrically interesting way...

I like them too. When I had first seen them at an Isle of Wight Festival (on TV, not in person) I asked my 15 year old daughter if she had ever heard of them. After she picked up her jaw from the floor, all she could mutter was, "Dad, you know Snow Patrol?" It didn't last all that long, but there's nothing quite like the feeling of having your teenage kids think you're cool.
