"in the "i wish" department,i would love to hear a live version of "our song" from 90125..."

Woody, I have two versions (08/23/84 Toronto & Aug. 9, 1984 Omaha) handy. I'm attempting to upload at least one, but probably both, to Yousendit. Hopefully you have used FLAC, as they are compressed in that format.

Update - here's a link. Let me know if it's okay, and just in case you're not familiar, it's only there for 7 days or 100 downloads, so get it early. ;)

edit - this is from the Toronto show. They're both audience recordings, but not too bad.

awrite, relayer! i am a complete failure with computers, but i got a friend of mine to work out the downloads. thank you,my friend-this was always my favorite 90125 song-it's SO Jon. it sounds really great, esp for a home recording. i saw the yes.west group about 4-5 times, but they never played that one. i don't suppose you have "i'm running"??? (another one that got dropped at the shows i saw)

I'd loved to see it on the 9012Live DVD too, 'though it was probably dropped from the set at that point. Squire probably used his non-reverse Thunderbird on it, at least the studio version sounds like it.
"Hearts" would have been nice on the DVD too.

Oh man . . . "Our Song" is the BEST track on that album . . . it's so well put together in every way, and you just can't help singing along . . . hallmarks of every good Yes song. Trevor Rabin even plays a very Howe-esque guitar line in it.

I love the last three songs on that album, "Our Song", "City of Love", and "Hearts". The rest of the album is good, but I always await those every time I put in the album. They need to play them live more often.

Glad you got them alright, Woody. Unfortunately, I don't have any '87 tour shows - I kind of turned my nose up to the Rabin years as far as collecting live shows (I did see them quite a few times throughout those years though), although I've rethought that a bit in the last little while. I do have an outtake version that's somewhat different from the official release.

I agree about Our Song - when I first heard 90125 on Toronto radio right before the official release, I was shocked by most of the record. Back then, there was no internet, so there was really no advance notice that this was a *very* different Yes. Our Song was just about the only thing that seemed 'familiar' as far as the group that I knew. I never could understand why that song seems to be overlooked (or held in slight regard).

Here's that alternate take of I'm Running:

thanks again, chris.i look forward to listening to that when i get home. i fall into the category of "yeshole",as i pretty much loved ALL their music output, and have been there since "every little thing". i have seen them at least once on every tour since 1972-except for the buggles one,and i loved the lp "drama"! it is really great to hear "new" things like this-i recently stumbled on a live "endless dream" on youtube that has a great extended ending-excellent guitar work from mr.rabin on that one.the song comes up in 3 separate sections on youtube.check it out!

I actually like It Can Happen on 90125, probably because of that initial high bass part, which is one of my favourites of Chris's. I also love the 8 string on Changes.

wow! quite a few changes actually! noticeably LESS GUITAR-"i'm running" was the standout track for me on BG,and this version is really quite cool. for one thing, chris' bass really is more prominent/less mixed in than on the cd.and more emphasis on jon's vocals with extra lyrics as well. oh,and i think i meant to say "yeswhole",instead of yeshole in that last email. :-) ....or maybe not....these recordings are really a treat to a longtime fan...thanks again chris!
