Yes George I know he was sort of billed as Man With No Name but do you or anyone recall if his name was ever know.

The greatest single effect for guitar has to be reverb, George. I am reminded by good friends here that there is not such thing as too much reverb!
Roy, set 'em up, we have some talkin' to do 'bout those numbers.
I am reminded of the considerable influence that American Westerns had on groups and music in the UK.
An obvious connection is The Searchers who took their name from the movie of the same name. I recall The Beatles use of cowboy boots while during the early Hamburg stay. I am also reminded of the James Bond riff recorded by Vic Flick that had an apparent western twang. I realize that I have just scratched the surface and perhaps Roy can add more.

With regard to the connection between American Westerns and UK 1960's music, I hope I haven't walked into an ambush.

Not an Ambush Peter but some of these recordings were not made in 60's but all have a 60's theme to them.
Ambush by the way was recorded by The Outlaws produced by Joe Meek.
Also, own up, I bet you shouted Hi Ho Silver when you listened to The Ventures contribution.

Westerns - Young Guns II - Bon Jovi - Blaze Of Glory. Not an instrumental, but great western song.

There was also some pretty cool theme songs featured on TV westerns of the 50's and 60's,,,many were vocals but could have fared well as instrumentals also. For some reason, most of the western shows I remember had vocals while the detective, gangster and sitcoms were instrumentals...too much TV at such a young age...
