My bass is earlier, LK 1447.
Paul, e-mail that harness pic to me when you get a chance, and many thanks.
I will also try to post a pic of it at the stage it's at now, but I don't know how to reduce the pic to 600 X 600; right now the pic is about 65K in size....

Oops...I have been talking about the tone caps, not the low cut cap....those are the blue caps I am referring to. What is their value?

Paul, you sniper! haha. I wish that had been my last bid, I ended up paying about $1450.00, did you get the case? I didn't.
John, I think my tone caps are also brown, I remember that there were some differences between Paul's and my bass.

Yes I did get the case but I don't think it was a RIC case because there was this rectangular impression at the neck/body joint at bottom of the case. I think it was a case for the Fender Precision bass though there was no logo of any sort on the exterior of the case. I ended up paying $1173 plus $35 shipping for my baby because the second high bidder (who bidded like 10 seconds after me) placed a $1148 bid.

Here's John's baby and description:

This is my 4001LH from Nov. 1972, in it's current
state. Original finish. The 'before' status can be
seen on John Williams's in the 'Other's Rics'
section...
It seems the left-handed basses were routed the
old-fashioned way, i.e. a Forstner bit until the
proper rout was achieved; apparently Rickenbacker did
not have a jig for routing a left-handed body....
I've got all of the stuff to put it back together and
a new pickguard and fingegrip are being cut as I write
this...I'll post another pic when it's done and I'll
have many to thank for making it possible.

Okay, I'm getting closer...the Dr. has my 'guard done and it's on the way to me now...
A question: Are all CTS pots made in the USA, or are they made outside the USA?? My bass has three pots (137) coded the 26th week of 1972, but they have 'Mexico' stamped on them....opinions please..

not sure.....all i know is that the CTS pots in my Two Ricks are slightly different in design, (one bass is 70's , one is 90's) but both are high quality (the 70's ones did not even need cleaning and that bass was beat when i got it)
I got some CTS pots individually for a Fender and they were a different - nowhere near as good quality. But they were CTS pots////maybe there are different grades of them made elsewhere?
