You have one like this too?
I have .009 - .046 Maxima Gold roundwounds on it, the 2028CL set, but my old Maxima stash is slowly dwindling ...

On my 350V63 I use Rickenbacker strings
10-42. I'm also looking at other strings
and it's been sometime since my last post.

I'm having a little problem with my 350V63
getting my setup the way that I want it.
My friend has the same guitar and yesterday
I played his 350V63 and his setup made the
guitar play better. Now he put D'Addario
10-46 and on my 350V63 I have Rickenbacker's
10-42. Is there a big difference Rickenbacker
and D'Addario strings? Also the two truss rods
are open all the way on mine. Does anyone have
any ideas on this problem and what can I do to
fix it. I had the same person setup my Gretsch
6128TBEE Duo Jet and my Steinberger GR4 and I
didn't have this problem. I don't know if its
the strings or that the person who set it up
just couldn't get it right. I need some help.

Hi everyone!
I'm a proud owner of a wonderful Rickenbacker 350v63 JG, that I've bought last spring (My first RIC!!!!!!!

).
I had few time to play it and know that I'd like to play it more so I had to choose new strings.
On my other guitars (USA Strato and Epi LP) I use Ernie Ball 48-11, and I'd like to put them also on the black baby (

I realized I had to find out a name for my Rick): I don't like very much the original 10-42 gauge. Everyone had ever tried this gauge on the 350v63? Should I take the guitar to a luthier to make also a set-up with the strings change (The guitar had a so excellent set-up but with heavier strings probably it won't work)?
Good day to everyone!!

I'm using TI flatwound 11's - I get a lot of buzzing with anything lighter, even after extensive set-up time.
Chris at POTR suggetsed the TI's and they seem to do the trick, which also really captures the "I Feel Fine" sound.

I use the 10-42 Curt Mangan Nickels from POTR. They last forever adn sound great. I have no buzzing issues.

It's strange that you have buzzing problems with light strings, I might suppose the opposite. For me the important is that someone uses heavier string gauge than the standard 42-10

Thanks!

Does anyone else here have a 350v63 MB? Would be interesting to get a sense of how many there are floating around this here Forum.
I have a 350v63 in MB(Midnight Blue) that was built for NAMM. They seem pretty rare in my experience.

David, MB is Montezuma Brown, and Oliver's post (more than 2 years old; he's no longer active) asked for others in that color.
Midnight Blue is acronymed "MID". See the sticky on RIC abbreviations.
MID 350s are rare, too. Then there was the one-off 2009 NAMM MID 381V69, which I missed by a couple of hours at a shop here in SF...
