I haven't posted much here, but I lurk occasionally and have learned a lot from the experts here.

Decided to jump in on this thread because I've also played the Fireglo '75 at Capsule and was REALLY impressed with it. I've only got my 77 4001 to compare it against, but that 75 is extremely light with a slim, fast neck (slimmer than my 77, which is not overly thick).

I plugged it into a reissue SVT/8x10 (big mistake!) and was really impressed with the fat tone and outstanding playability. I like my decapped 77 better, but this was real close.

The only thing that put me off a bit, aside from the aforementioned buckle rash and chip in the neck, was a slight bit of bridge lift.

I've bought and sold several basses at Capsule and have found them excellent to deal with. I'm guessing they might come down a couple of hundred from their $2500 asking price, but decent 70s Ricks aren't exactly thick on the ground here, so I doubt they'll move too much.

Toronto + Ricks. Hmmm!! There was a guy called Gary once upon a time who used to play 'em.
But Fender paid him loads to endorse their stuff.
Spit!! LOL!
