Be sure and tweak the wastegates out to about 30 pounds or so on your turbo. You'll arrive MUCH faster

25lbs on race gas or alcohol is about as brave as I get! I'd love to pimp the GN but there is no way it's sitting in a NJ parking lot unattended overnight so, alas, I'll be driving the '07 Wrangler. No land speed records for me this time.

Same here, Brian! The 69 Porsche is staying in the garage, and so is the 91 ZR-1 vette (32-valve hemi motor and it is NOT stock anymore ). It will be the Ford Excursion guitar hauler this time for me 
Ten-cylinder 425 cu.in. gas motor notwithstanding, the zero-to-sixty time in a 7000 pound truck is pretty crummy. And it will still burn 13 gallons of gas at 10 mpg to get there... I would much rather burn the same 10 mpg having serious 700HP fun in the ZR-1 instead - but it only hauls two guitars instead of 20

Elys....I didn't know you were coming. Last I heard you were kind of vague. That's great!
I'll meet you at a race track sometime and I'll see if I can keep from embarrassing myself with my little 'ole V6. A neighbor of mine is looking for his dream Porsche (some '60's something) and he has drafted me as his mechanical advisor so I'm going to have to bone up on my German engineering so i don't let him down. I'm actually looking forward to it....should be a fun challenge.
My Wrangler is no party by the gallon either. Nothing like driving the anti-aerodynamic antichrist!

My 69 Porsche is one of the last that still had the high-pressure (400psi) mechanical fuel injection, before they switched over to low-pressure (25 to 35 psi)solenoid injectors. It is only a 2.0 liter flat-six motor, but it has solid lifters and a 10 grand tach Not much torque, but lots of top-end breathing power for its time. The Germans called it "Einspritzung", their term for "fuel injection". Your friend either likes the older 356 body style, the famous "bathtub" that James Dean killed himself in, or the 911 body. If the latter, there is a shorter "A" body, and after 1968 or so a longer "B" body. The "B" body is usually the most desired, and it came in a removable Targa top with lower power, or the hardtop higher power E and S. They also made a 912, but that was just a 4-cyl version of the 911. Not very desirable anymore.

I'm a FE and small block Ford guy at heart. The Buick V6 turbo is a huge departure for me so the Porsche is completely foreign (pun semi-intended). I'm looking forward to it though....nothing wrong with expanding your horizons.

Marc is ready for MARF. I will be in town tomorrow and Saturday nights. The only thing is I do need to take time in the evenings to study for my upcoming real estate exam, so I may not be the party animal you guys will be
