They are currently spaced like mine.....next to the neck. Woody's is used so that's why I asked.
My preferred spacing....

Tony, I ordered this baby about two years ago. It arrived last month with this pup configuration.
Congrats Woody, the 4004 is a great bass.

I am thinking you roundwound guys need a little more bass? I sure got plenty with chromes and I have the neck pickup in the "not so close to the neck" position. I am trying to brighten(growl, clank, etc.) mine up a touch by trying GHS Brite flats, but alas, I haven't had time yet to change them out.

sorry i left work and was offline till now-brian it is the "intermediate"spacing, which is what i wanted. i had a 4002 for over a decade, and really like the tone coming off the pickups further back-like the back pickup on your lk. i tend to play more singer-songwriter coffee-house sort of music,as well as mellow rock and think this bass is gonna be great. i also tend to play fingerstyle near the bridge . mike tells me this one has a low action, too!

It appears I've crossed over into the Dark Side as well...

I wasn't PLANNING on this....
Thanks for your help on this Brain, you should get a commission on these babies!
J.Gary, sweet. I'm COUNTING on the backlog!
What made you decide the Cii over the Laredo?

Congrats on the 4004, Woody. You might change your mind about the gold hardware on mapleglo when you get the bass. I didn't think I'd like the gold hardware on jetglo, but when my 4004Cii JG arrived, I grew fond of it quickly.

Tony, I like them both. As Jared mentioned, I went for the "bling" of the Trans Red.

Deja vu, Brian!
BTW, in an episode of the TV series
Herman's Head (yeah, I know, not the best name for a show - I didn't name it!), they had a self-parody bit in which the characters were watching TV and a promo for a new series,
Brian's Brain was shown, upon which they made comments how lame the concept was, how it would never last one season, etc.
