New Shea '65 tape

Jon, is the quality as good as on the anthology dvd? I think the Fabs had them cleaned up for the anthology, as most i have seen aren't that flash!

O man....the quality is excellant. The mix is straight from the board.

The quality IS excellent, but it REALLY gives you an idea of the conditions they were playing under. The bass on the line recording is virtually inaudible and there's a fair amount of ambient wind noise on the mics. Plus the levels are all messed up and go up and down. It's inconceivable that, even by '65 standards, that SOUND was not a greater priority.

Although I guess there never had been ANYTHING like Shea.

Still and all, a fascinating audio document. Totally different from the "sweetened" audio on the film

The sound was pretty good as I recall.

I went to dozens of Mets games at Shea. Wish I had made it to the Beatles show. But during the summers we weren't home anyway. But not too far away.
