If you remove it the warranty is void
(sorta like the tag police on pillows)

I'm no admirer of the sticker on the pickguard, but think it's a precious little thing.
The day that I got my '98 4003 FG, I carefully peeled it off with the help of a pencil knife kepping it intact, and stick it inside the warranty card. There was no RIC dealer in my country and I didn't bother sending the card back to RIC. I was not covered anyway even if I did.
Now the sticker and all case candies stay in the case, including the treble pickup cover.

I take the stickers off always. I'd feel like a tourist if I left them on.

Hmmmm.... Romancing the Rickenbackers. I once thought about writing a song about being in love with "Ricky" and almost immediately discarded the idea....(too corny!) By the way, Noel, that was funny! Do you write romance novels, too? LOL!

For those that agonize over this decision, just buy yourself an extra pick guard from RIC. You can have your pie and eat it too!
Personally, I take em off.

Was that a joke Dedgoat about the warrantee being voided if you take off the sticker? I'm gullible, I'll believe it.
PS. everytime I see your name, I think of the album: Goats Head Soup.
And actually I think that I did put one of the stickers behind the headstock of a V63 I bought a few years ago that I sold.

I can't believe this is a topic for discussion!

The topic reminded me of the entire Monty Python skit about the mattress tag police, only you insert the Ric label and there you go. Not a big soup fan, unless I use my socks as a base.

Everytime I see "Talk To The Toneman" I think of the song "Clap For The Wolfman" Yeeech!

I don't see the problem. A gig or two and that sticker's history.

NEW THREAD
Do you DARE open the case when your new guitar arrives?

Hell yeah!
Before opening the case of my new Rick, I take a long shower to "sanctify" myself while the baby got accustomed to my room temprature in her case.
Then, I clean my nose and have it ready to enhale the pleasant scent of a new Rick.
Now I open the case and make my eyes and nose happy...and my ears too.

Paul....step away from the guitar case....

Haha!
All the cases are safely stored in another room.
All the babies are on stands within my reach anytime I want to play any of them. (The only time they're in the cases is during transportation.)
Now I sometimes sneak into that room, open and sniff inside my '98 4003 case. The nice smell is still in there!
I'm a "case freak", honestly, and appreciate their "inner beauties" .
Gotta have one for each of my babies!
