Right Brian - My 2001 #9 has the bunched up PUP spacing. It also came with a black and with gold lettering raised TRC, which i sent back to RIC for a gold plexiglass one.
I am not holding my breath -

The instruments are numbered as they are shipped, not as production begins. Stacks of bodies and other components, however, may remain in inventory for any length in time (such as the 4002 bodies we have for example) and may not come out of the stack in sequence as production progresses.
You can only see this on the LK's due to the artisan's "signature" in the form of the carving style, that's not apparent in a standard production line instrument.

You can make me one of those 4002's any time now, John. Black on Black would be perfect. Thanks. I'll drop $ in the mail this week.

I'd take one as well (even though they're not Fireglo), just let me know where to send the check.

It's time for a little housecleaning around there anyway, get rid of all those old things.

Certainly a more attractive proposition to RIC than the much talked about tuna boat reissue!

Wints - you are just on comical fire.

Cuckoo clocks? Tuna boats?

Ed,
My old headmaster had a cuckoo clock with a similar carving in his study. My uncle also had a huge antique German one on his upstairs landing, made of very dark wood, with leaves and vines entwined.
I can't help think of them whenever I see the LK!
Tuna boat was a term coined here by Don Adamek in reference to the 4005, and originated from the RIC employees during the 70's..

So John, were there were any other 4002 components left over such as pickups, pickguards or wiring harnesses.
