For us the Disaster Du Jour is a massive forest fire.... there is one near us that has probably consumed at least 100 square miles of forest right now, and over a hundred buildings have been destroyed, including some really premium-value summer homes.... it is still about 40 miles away from the town where I live. High winds and warm dry weather have made the blaze extremely difficult for fire fighters to control. My husband told me yesterday that if it gets too close and they have to evacuate town, we're going to load up all the guns, guitars, and business inventory in our two vehicles and drive like mad! For a couple of days we were directly downwind from the fire, and there was a heavy pall of smoke over the town, with little white bits of ash raining down. Yep.... I'm ready to move, LOL!

I was wondering how close you were to that. Stay safe, Melissa!

Melissa, I'll say a little prayer for that trouble. You may have seen where there are lots and lots of fires burning in Florida and Georgia too. All week we've had complete overcast of smoke low to the ground, soot covering the cars in the morning, everybody coughing their heads off, it's nuts. And it goes from north of me all the way down into the southern and eastern parts of the state where Tony is too.
