Im paying $3.09 here in Troy Ohio. I just got rid of my Ford Expedition and bought a new Jeep Wrangler Sahara. I love it.

I average 30-32mpg, and that's driving L.A.'s worst freeways. On reason I chose the car. Also it has enough room for a couple amps, a few guitars and passengers.
I don't want to give any more $$$ to OPEC than I have to.

I personally would like to see gas up around
$10 a gallon to encourage conservation.

I don't care what anyone else drives or if they water their lawns with gas.

I personally just don't like giving away more money than necessary.

And one of the few things in life I have a little of that control over is how much gas I use.

I conserve, means more gas for someone else. Mr. Nice guy, I am.

Man thats scary Brian! Mine is exactley like that, color and all. I got the 6 speed manual tranny, its not doing bad on fuel, hell of a lot better than the Expedition.

6spd here too (I have the soft top on now BTW). I have the lower gears which I hated at first due to performance but once I got used to the powerband and put on a cold air intake it hasn't been too bad (I got around 20MPG on my trip to MARF). I've limited my driving to necessity so I haven't been hit too hard by the gas prices. We're still pretty fortunate with our gas prices compared to the rest of the world.

My GN is premium only and now also needs methanol so that is a little worse on my budget for fuel but fortunately it is a "weekend" car so I usually only fill it up once a month or so. It blows through lots of gas at the track though.

I filled up for $3.269 with midgrade 89 Saturday in a resort town. I must say they sell 87 regular and 89 mid for the same price. $42.02 for a fillup. And that was only 12.85 gals.! But I got just under 34 MPG on the way back to the Zoo at 62 MPH. It could be worse.

If you inflation adjust gas prices it is actually cheaper now than it was in the 80's. I wonder how many people got to Starbucks? Adjust the price of their coffee by the gallon and they probably wouldn't complain about gas prices. Anyway, being between 2 homes, one in Boise and one in San Francisco, I can say that gas prices are actually more expensive in Boise.

Ever wonder why printers are so cheap? So they have you hooked for the ink. Someone calculated the cost of the ink at.. you won't believe it.... but it is true… $5,200 a gal.!!!!

I feel a little guilty posting this, but I'm paying $2.79 and 9/10ths for premium (93 octane) just around the corner at the Exxon. A gallon of regular unleaded is going for $2.57.

However, just across the county line in Fairfax you can easily add $.20 a gallon or more across the board depending on where you happen to be. Such a joke.

Bad news sells. There's no big hoopla when fuel prices dip below $3 here. Premium was about $2.65 a few weeks back and there wasn't a peep about it in the news.

There's definitely a difference price-wise by town, but some of this is likely due to overhead. I'm sure that the lot a gas station is located on in someplace such as Huntington or Newport Beach is more expensive than Santa Ana and the price per gallon reflects this. This might not explain the whole enchilada, bu tI would think that it's at least a part.

Taxes are also a big chunk of the price of each gallon here in the U.S., something like 16 cents state and 17 cents federal. I might even be under by a penny or two.

I don't want to venture into the political, but I don't think I am by making the observation that since a majority hasn't allowed any drilling anywhere over here, or allowed nuclear power anywhere(if the French can get it right with a roughly 70% nuclear power plant ratio, why can't we?), the inevitable result is higher fuel prices. There's oil all over the place off any of the coasts of the U.S. and in the ANWR that exceeds the middle east, and probably Venezuela as well. Tapping into nuclear and all of the reserves as sources of power and fuel would help price-wise until alt power becomes cheaper to use.

On a related note. Chevrolet is already marketing its full size hybrid trucks and SUVs here on the telly as I watch the baseball playoffs.

I drive a Ford Focus 3 door. It holds all my gear, a passenger or two as well, and gets good mileage in my book!
