Well, he already bought the mellotrons, organs, and assorted other Studio 2 instruments that were up for sale...why not complete the collection? Perhaps his goal is to ensure it's not eventually turned into another Hard Rock Cafe or worse yet, Donald Trumps Newest Super Cool Purchase to brag about. Paul probably would have bought the Cavern, too, if it still existed. He should be the one to have these things, IMO.
