If you want to see if it has the cap then look under the pickguard ...

Just out of interest, what do the C-Series have in them? Same as a 4003?

Oops! That's what happens when you get distracted! Didn't think I'd posted that one...sorry about that! The distraction was I had the idea to swap the pots in the 76 Azure I'm still babysitting with those in the CS and see what difference (if any) it made to both basses. Unfortunately my soldering iron decided on today to give up the ghost. Oh well, that's one for the near future...
Pete, the CSs don't normally have a cap. Could be some sort of phase cancellation or something (non-tech head again - those more tech-minded should be able to clarify/confirm). When I had my V63 i could never get the neck pickup as high as on my CS which resulted in a similar effect with both pickups on (sweet sounding bass though, I actually liked the tone of that bass more than that of my CS, although it wasn't as ballsy).
