I broke a string once, August 1975 I think it was, I'm still traumatised now! (By the way, I still have the other 5 stings on) Image.

I've never broken a bass string. In fact, I had the same set of flats on my Washburn XB 100 for years. They were starting to turn green when I traded it in somewhere (yes, they gave me money for it).
I'm glad I haven't broken one because I've heard horror stories about it.
