I ordered a Gretsch from Music123 last year. They backordered me several times over a period of months without sending any notification. Later they explained that Fender/Gretsch had none of that model in the country. I cancelled my order and called a different dealer. He said that Fender/Gretsch had a bunch of them in stock at their main warehouse, any color I want. I received my guitar a few days later. When dealers don't pay their bills, most guitar companies won't accept new orders.

Steve H may be absolutely right and the bass never does show up. (I wouldn’t be surprised either.)

However, order delays, cancellations and mix-ups are not unique to M123. (In fact over at the FDP Forum it’s MFriend bashing time because of some supposed mix-ups they’ve had lately possibly because of their warehouse move.)

Just off the top of my head here is a partial list of the items I have purchased from M123 (as you’ll see from many different manufacturers) and NEVER had a problem with ANY of the orders.

Ibanez bass pedal – Hal Leonard music books – guitar case – Danelectro guitar pedal – Hosa Y-adapter – Gator amplifier rack/case – Vox combo amp – Ibanez bass – two Ibanez guitars – Ibanez guitar case – Hartke combo amp – Jay Turser bass – Hartke bass head – Ashdown bass cabinet – Takamine guitar – Takamine guitar case – Epiphone bass case – assorted cables

Fedex tracking they sent me says it will be delivered tomorrow.

I've dealt with music123 as recently as Feb of this year with no problems.

This really isn't a problem, as much as it is an inconvenience. If they don't charge me for the bass, and won't let me return it, then I will keep it Image

Right now the problem is, they won't take it back because it's not in "their system".

If it is not in their system how do they know what to ship and to whom?

Jeff, I have no idea. Hopefully I'll know more tomorrow when it arrives.

Stay tuned for another adventure in "Who's bass is it anyway?"

Sounds like a title for a shady eBay auction purporting to be an Ox bass...

Who's bass, is it anyway?

Well, the bass was delivered. There's no invoice inside, just a packing list with 0 due on it. Can't search by invoice number(This is the problem their CS has)What can I say?

They have no record of any credit card info in their system, so I don't know how they can charge me.

Of course I took it out, and played it a little Image

Not a horrible bass but, it needs a set up bad.

In that light, enjoy your new bass, Marc, unless you want to pay to send it back. From what they've told you, I doubt they want it back.

Meanwhile, I've just ordered and cancelled three Les Paul Customs, two American Strats and a really cool guitar pick.

Here's hoping!

I'll suggest something you're probably already thinking, which is check your bank account to see if you've been recently charged--I know sometimes when I've ordered an item not in stock I haven't been billed until after I've been notified it's shipped.

I checked every credit card I have including the music123 card. Nothing has been charged, and they don't have any info on file.
