Eddie's original guitar "Der Frankenstein" was a Kramer neck and Warmoth/Mighty Might Body with Floyd Rose, Dimarzio and Schaller as parts. He put it together because he was different, he didn't follow the main stream stereo type Fender/Gibson player. IMO why should anyone care how many or how much these replicas sell for. It's just a rich mans toy after all. These things are wall hangers just like a Mona Lisa art replica.

Welcome back, Dale!

I don't know anyone who would pay $25K for a Mona Lisa "art replica"...and this doesn't come close to "art".

I think the reaction here is to the "art" of throwing money at junk.

In my opinion, of course...

Dale's got a point. I'm not sure why I care. But it is maddening, for some reason.

I think it has something to do with Paris Hilton.

For me it's got to do with pissing away big money. I know, it's not mine and what is it to me. It just slaps at my sensibilities. My money has never come easy.

I see little difference in people paying huge amounts of money for beat up "vintage" pieces and then putting them in a safe, and this.

Maybe it comes from some desire to own something with some sort of "mojo" - whatever that means - or owning something that someone else doesn't have, but to each his own.

I do remember someone telling me that the reason they bought a "stressed" guitar in the first place was that they didn't have to worry about getting that first ding on it ... but $25K for that privilege seems a little high.
