Dane has made a good point. If this bass had a .135 low b, the other strings would most likely be of a higher tension, causing the tailpiece to lift.

Well, the GHS Boomers did not make it to my 4003/5. I didn't know they were used until I opened the pack. I wanted a fresh set to enjoy the best sound, so I got a set of D'Addario XL's soft gauge. they have .130 B string. The bass sounds awesome with these strings. A nice tight focused B string is the way I like it, and the price is reasonable.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

I've always used stock Ric strings on my 4003S/5.
