You're all right, sort of (about Outback). The company is now privately owned by the founders and Bain Capital, as well as another firm called Catterton. Details on that can be found at outback.com.
Outback is very good with its people compared to most other companies I've known. They're totally against layoffs and such. Of course, you never know, but having our founders as part owners most likely ensures J Dog ain't going nowhere. Thanks for the concern though.

I was pretty happy to see this today, given that all my GC stock was purchased for $15 per share or less!
All the new owners have to do is break the cesspool mentality there . . . you know, the biggest chunks float to the top? Fire about 5 people and the profits will go up immensely.
Get rid of the jet (previously used by the drug cartels of Mexico) and profits will go up even more.

I recently visited one of the guitar centers here in Denver ... there was a guy who was having his hollow bodied guitar set up by the GC tech ... the tech was one of those GC Rock n roll wanna-bes ... he had the R&R look but he had the crummy GC day job ... the guitar owner said he really wanted to get a Rickenbacker but he wanted to wait until he got to be a better player ... the GC employee said we don't sell Rickenbackers ... I told the guy if he wanted a Ric then get one ...
I hope GC dies and goes to hell. The mention of that infernal chain stirs up really serious, passionate feelings in me. I despise them for turning the music retail business into a Wal-Mart selling experience with idiots behind every counter. I hate them for putting indie music stores out of business.
I will not shop there anymore, and am doing everything in my power as a musician, writer and journalist to encourage other musicians and parents of musicians to shop at independent music stores. Check put my column "And The Beat Goes On" in the current issue of Classic Drummer magazine. It's about developing a relationship with indie music retailers...and leaving GC behind.

I bought an old Fender bass amp from Jammin' Jersey a few years back, they did a GREAT job with it, it was just as advertised, the amp was carefully packed and the speaker removed and packed carefully, at a good price... I'd definitely deal with them again.
"This is the big one, Elizabeth, I'm coming to join ya, honey!"
