Thanks everyone,
yeah Jeff I enjoy restoring basses, that's half the fun to me, and I was thinking of turning it into a 7 string, what do you think Jeff? haha! I realize it's going to cost some bucks but you don't see those everyday, especially that color.
I'd rather have that than a late model 4003 because actually I have several of those already but not a Burgandy 4003 with split pickguard.
And that's a good ides selling the Duncans on Ebay, I didn't think anyone would want them, relics of the 80's you know?
I'll either have Don make me a pickguard or wait for Ebay but I'll probably have Don make me one, I want one that fits.

OK I won the bass, very nervewracking last few minutes, I payed more than I wanted to but I think it will be a nice bass when I am done. By the way, does anyone want any Seymore Duncan pickups? makes your Rickenbacker bass sound better. Is an upgrade! haha!

Hey Image, Bob!

Actually, I had no idea which baby you were bidding on. Care to post the auction link?

Yes, Bob, we require pics of all basses around here. Get with the program, would ya? LOL!

Oh, and congrats on the new acquisition!

If you want to get really funky, you could always pull a Manzer, and add a bunch of cross strings.

Congratulations Bob,
What are your plans for this RIC, besides playing the $heat out of it!

Hopefully this will work, as most of you know I am still in the early analog age. And these pictures are lousy, I have some decent closeups if anyone wants them, just e-mail me. When I get it done I'll post some of my terrible photography for all to say: What is that? A bass?
I sold the Fireglo because I bought an SVT out here and was broke and couldn't pay for it and I can always replace that one, and then I saw this bass and saw a diamond in the rough (I hope)and couldn't resist bidding on it.
I plan on restoring it to original, I'm not sure if I'm going to go with 4001/early 4003 pickups or brand new 4003 pickups, probably the new ones unless I find some old ones which I doubt. I have 2 stock 4001's here now except that the caps have been bypassed, I'll probably go with the new ones for a thicker sound. That will hopefully be the only deviation from original.

Bob, if you were looking to unload that black surround (assuming it's stock Ric), I know someone who might be interested.
