We probably shouldn't...but it is difficult to wait a week to say something... other than a heavily cryptic post!

A good point, Mark.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I am hoping more will attempt it, perhaps if we want a real challenge it should be one attempt only and that way I would give the answer each Saturday.

Thanks to the few so far who have entered into the spirit of it, but I agree to some degree Peter.

Sometimes it's hard to resist when you get a right answer only by chance... Sorry.
(still i hope i didn't give any hint on what the act in question was known for...)

I took a stab and did not hit the mark with my first guess either. I did email a second guess though. I am waiting patiently for confirmation of the correct answer. I'll wager that not too many will guess this one right.

Well thanks to all who had a go at this not easy and enough entries to perhaps warrant doing a 3rd BFTP.

I had 5 correct entries , some got it on 2 nd attempt as I did say 2 attempts allowed to be fair.

Mark, Peter, Sheena, Robert and Jim all correct.

It was in fact The Searchers with John McNally on lead vocal and proves to me anyway that 42 years after they last made top 20 in UK and US they can still cut it.

That great song, covered by so many (Nick Lowe, Bruce Springsteen, Br5-49) was written by the same gentleman who co-wrote "Jambalaya" with Hank Williams:

I would never have guessed that the Searchers would sound like that.

Thanks for the education Roy.
