I remember this guitar clearly from the Lennon Legend DVD. I remember he plays Cold Turkey with it..

I doubt that most people knew that Lennon had one of these guitars, or even wanted to buy one before this little promotion. Then again, if Fender can market cigarette-burned and "road-worn" guitars, Gibson can definitely sell obscure models used by an artist as "Signature Editions."

The concert in NYC that Geraldo Rivera got going for the people of the Mental health facility, John plays the whole concert on the LP jr. Save for the few songs he plays the piano on.
On Come Together, the guitar wails. They're great little guitars.

Eh eh, can't wait for Futurama to bring out the GH's special edition.

But seriously, the LP Junior special with 2 P90's is a top lightweight guitar that can tear your audiences nickers off.

I'm sure it is a great sounding instrument, and with the Lennon legacy attached, but it looks like a "Wiggles" guitar!
Doesn't do it for me!(Sorry for my negatives!)

Yes, can look like kangas pellets, but I really like the DC version of it, just for it's versatility and dog-almighty noisy raunch!

Scares the hee-bee-jee-bees out of the kids!

...just got to be careful the neck don't come off in your hands...

He played this guitar for what, 1 year?
And they're making a custom Lennon version of it. Unbelievable. What next, Yoko Ono custom limited edition "wind"? Just what the liner notes of the Plastic Ono Band album says Yoko played.

Gary, dont give Yoko any more silly ideas!... she'll cash in on JOhn's memory any way she can.

$3000+ is clearly way too much for this thing. They'll sell a few, but I have a feeling that Gibson is going to take it in the financial shorts.

I am sure this would be a Great little guitar to own for a "Beatle guitar" collector like myself but it just cost too much. MF has a selling price of $4999.00! For a Les Paul Jr.? That's crazy!

Artfully done, however.

That whole MSG concert is on Youtube, forgive me for not posting the link, but I've always liked the look, and sound of that guitar. I never could quite figure out JWL's motivation for the neck pickup, unless he just happened to find the guitar like that and think it was a good idea, every shot I've seen of him from that period shows him playing on the bridge P90. The whole NYC album, where he's playing electric, sounds like a LP jr., so I don't doubt he was really in to the guitar for awhile--but I think most of us would probably be happy with an ordinary LP special or junior. Or perhaps I'm just saying that because I can't afford one....
