Hey Charly, watch the ohms rating on your PowerBlock. It's a great little amp but you MUST observe the ohms rating. 8 ohms in mono. No more no less and 4 ohms in stereo same deal, and don't even think about running an unbalanced load.
A note to everyone bringing gear...space will be at a premium. This room is not as big as last year, yet there will likely be as many people AND we will have neighbors we didn't have last year. I think we should keep it light and tight. Just my opinion, but this is a Rick fest not a gear fest. I think we should iron out in advance who's bringing what and stick to it. As it is, the hotel staff is probably gonna freak when they see us all bringing in 100 plus guitars, as well as a full stage setup.

I had been planning all along to bring the SVT as the stage bass amp. I also have a couple of small practice amps that I will throw in so more folks can noodle around on different instruments at a low volume during the day.

Hey Dane, I R a trained teknisheeun! I know bout 'pedance and stuff!

I agree, I don't want us to get bounced out of there before we even start! We should keep the amps reasonably sized, have a few there, but not overdo it.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

Now I've done it! I picked up a Portabass 250 today for 199! I couldn't pass it up, the price kept dropping , and I waited it out til under 200. So I may have to off the Power Block, although I was thinking of keeping it around to make a guitar setup.

The PortaBass 250's are excellent amps. My "grab it and run" practice setup is a PortaBass 250 and PortaBass 2x10 cab. Both pieces only total 46 pounds.

Yes Dane, your place is where I first got the idea to wait this one out at Sam Ash. So we'll see how the budget holds with both of these, otherwise the Power Block goes.

You should still keep the PowerBlock. It's an awesome little amp...especially when you can get one at GC for $75.00 tax included!

I thought they were out? In fact, all the sites say discontinued, and I paid more than that because they are not available any more.

I have a PB250, they are very nicely built and sound good through all my cabinets. More power would be nice but it does what I need of it.

Jeffrey, I talked with a tech at Ampeg( after blowing a 12" in one of my Ampeg 2x12 cabs, and he told me that the best way to run your PB250 is to set the master volume between three o'clock and full and use the pre amp volume to set your volume. What a difference it made at my last practice.

I wonder why that is? Hmm. I have not had any issues with the PB250; I do not have any of the PB speakers, perhaps there is a story here regarding those Ampeg cabinets.
