Read the book. Clapton comes off as scum, Pattie seems to regret leaving George.

Have almost completed reading it. Some good anecdotes, at best. The early family tree stuff was boring. Basically I find it soft and not that introspective.

Right. Didn't even read the family history chapters.

Just wanted the lowdown on GH & EC.

I got to play 'George' in a real-life reenactment of this stupidly tawdry story some years ago...the girl who played 'Pattie' still wants to be friends, but that's turned out to be difficult for me...and I still ain't got much to say to the guy who played 'Clapton'...

Interestingly, his promiscuity before and after the whole sordid business bought him nothing but trouble...his musical career's in the dumper and I think he's still trying to cure his gonorrhea with homeopathy and tofu...

Sometimes it's best to leave vengeance to time and the Universe...

Clapton's musical career is in the dump? Must be a very nice dump. What, is he touring the amusement park circuit or something?

No, no, not Clapton...the guy who played Clapton in my re-enactment...

To clarify things further, I was also referring to said re-enactor with the gonorrhea information...I have no idea whether Clapton ever had the Clap...

Yes, actually his name used to be just Eric Ton.

If you've seen footage of EC and Patti when they were together, they're almost always totally drunk. I'm not sure she was such a good thing for either husband.
