Bronze that thang. So cool to record on something with a wild history. Do you still record with it?

(Not sure I wanna see a film of Sammy acting out that song...)

Yes, I use it all the time! It works great at age 36, and it has a bold, clear, and forward sound. The 3M M56s were really popular in the early 70s, with many epic rock records being done on these machines. Occasionally I record rock/hi fi purists who demand to record on the 2" 16tk format, so there's always been a certain amount of demand for this machine. The bronze idea does have a certain appeal...

The great thing about buying old pro audio gear is that it is very likely to have an amusing history, since there didn't used to be all that many studios.

I don't know if Sammy himself appears in the film or not. This seems like a possible pre-Roadhouse part for Swayze, you know?

I think they missed out on the guitar design by not including a stick shift control as a whammy.

Mitch- that's a neat bit of trivia about your tape machine! Nice to see you on this forum!!

I still don't understand how someone at Fender never thought of the Danny Partridge signature Mustang Bass. They've made a signature model for everyone else.
I can imagine the "Cmon, get happy!" slogan in the magazine ad.

Good idea Joey! They could put it in a case painted like the Partridge Family Bus..Heh.

Or in an actual bus, painted appropriately.

Wasn't he a regular on Stern's show for awhile back about 15 years ago?

He was never part of Stern's show, only as a guest. He is now on the Adam Carolla radio show in LA.

Adam Carolla...the pseudo-thinking-young-man's Adam Sandler.
