My Elitist is all but perfect, George -the 'all but' referring to the tortoise banjo armrest which can't seem to stay on the guitar!

When 'Guitar Player' reviewed the Chet model they experienced the same thing.

It's not a real problem in that it only comes off if unusual pressure is applied to it.

Walter: You need a screen capture program. There are many but a good and simple one is FastStone Capture 5.6 (free if you want it to be).

Once you activate your desktop's Fastone iccon, the whole program looks like this:

Then you can capture, crop, rotate, resize, etc. any window you have open. Saving that image (.jpg) to any of your directories allows easy retrieval via this site's "Upload Attachment" button.

The Stones were another Epiphone brand. Richards and Jones played Casinos periodically. Jones also used an acoustic Epiphone 12 string.

I've said it many, many times before - Ibanez and Epiphone offer great value for the money.

Like Steve, I just purchased an Epiphone Thunderbird IV. I have zero complaints about it. Full rich sound, nice set up, etc. Really feel like it was a great buy.

Mine is an oddball one from Japan (EA 255) an '85 I think. It has a bolt-on neck, but the body is clear-coat over nice walnut veneer, rather than being stained. Two things annoy me: It's a real bear to tighten up the jack, the switch, etc. when they loosen up and it sits on my knee in a different way than my Rickenbackers do, thanks to those little Mickey-Mouse ears that they have for horns. It seems like the waist is farther forward and I'm too old and lazy to play standing up. Other than that, it looks nice, plays nicely and sounds pretty darned good.

I have an Epiphone Emperor II. Bought it in in the early 90's. The next year they put Joe Pass' signature on the pickguard and charged $200 more for it.

I also came very, very close to buying an Epi Korina Flying V at one point. I may have some sort of guitar bi-polar disorder.

you won't find a Casino Elitist with a Bigsby... they made a Guitar of the Month Casino with a Bigsby though... playing with the idea od installing one on my natural Casino

Jerry: I found my sunburst Elitist with factory Bigsby on eBay a few years back. The BIN was only $750 or $800, so I snapped it up. The seller took it as a trade from someone who worked for Musician's Friend. It was supposedly a special presentation guitar awarded to top Gibson/Epiphone distributors. It's a fantastic guitar. I want to get another in a natural finish with a trapeze tailpiece.

Nick: My Elitist is only one I've ever seen with a factory Bigsby. I've installed Epi-branded Bigsby's (cast aluminum with 'E' cutout) on two of my Epiphones (a black Casino and an orange Sorrento). They play great. I honestly don't use vibratos, but I like the look so long as it doesn't affect playability.

I assume they're structurally sound enough to put one on aftermarket, no probs.

I saw a Dwight Yoakum video at some point where he was playing one.

Jerry: I haven't had a problem installing a Bigsby on a Casino. The wood on the face of the guitar is fairly thick where the Bisgby goes. I always apply masking tape (to prevent finish cracks during installation, pre-drill the holes, soap the screws, and slowly install the screws by hand. Be sure to take the time to get everything perfectly straight for professional looking results.
