Don't forget Baby Blue by Badfinger, was my favorite song by them.
I saw Mountain twice, were a great live band. All those bands were pretty big here.

I don't know how much of a hit it was, but Mountain's 'Mississippi Queen' is certainly a rock classic.

Theme From an Imaginary Western is also a great classic tune from them (Jack Bruce wrote it)

It made number 21 in US charts in June 70.

I knew it got played a lot on the radio back then (still does). 'Fir Yasgur's Farm' was another song they were known for.

RE: only Rod Argent from Zombies was in the Band, they had 3 hits in UK all made top 40.

Roy, I couldn't catch the name but during the set, Rod gave a very short history of the bands.
He said he asked a bass player to join the Zombies and the guy turned him down. And then when the original bass player eventually left, this other guy then decided to join.
When Rod formed Argent, the bass player joined him in the new band.
So, according to Rod, there were two Zombies members in Argent.

Again, I'm sorry I didn't catch the name. All I remember is that he appears to be pretty short. And that it was his son who was playing drums in the Zombies with them. Know who I mean?

To clarify about Mountain -
I never meant to imply that they didn't have great songs. And I never said that several of the songs didn't get a lot of FM radio airplay.
All I meant was that they were not a 'pop' band that had AM radio-style 'Top 40-type' "hits." That's all.

Argent was formed by Chris White, Bass player in Zombies and Rod Argent, but White was not a active member in terms of playing.

Russ Ballard was first to leave Argent and was replaced by John Verity and Steve Grimaldi I believe, Verity has a connection to my favourite band The Searchers, in 1982 he was commissioned to produce a new album by The Searchers, approx 4 tracks were recorded but PRT cancelled the album.

If anyone has ever heard Mike Pender's one and only solo single,It's Over, the 12" version, Verity produced and played the great guitar fadeout on the track.

Now you're probably saying I didn't need to know that bit but hey I feel better for telling you.

Which is just what Argent said at the show.

In a later role as a record company A&R man, he was instrumental in discovering the band Dire Straits.

Eeeek..."Get rid of that guy and let me be in your band! My daddy's got a rumpus room we can use..."

That one's almost as bad as "We can just have my girlfriend play bass"...
