That Don Kirshner show is great- I'd love to see it again. There's lots out there. If you like that band at all you must have the Music for Hangovers DVD. It's truly stellar. Tom's a vastly underrated bass player and ALWAYS sounds great. I still maintain that the first CT album, produced by Jack Douglas, not only has the best sounding Gibson Thunderbird ever recorded but may also be one of the best debut albums by any hard rock band of any era. Tom invented the 12ver and played Hamers for some time but had a falling out with them and has allied himself with several manufacturers the last few years (Kid, Chandler and most recently, Waterstone).

So anyway, good show. First half was various Beatles' tunes, a pop star from Liverpool doing a fantastic job on Strawberry Fields (full L.A. Philhamonic behind him).
Joan Osborne and Aimie Mann also contributing. Had a complement of Indian musicians as well.
Second half was Sgt. Peppers in it's entirety.
Rough in some spots, particularly timing ("Good Morning, Good Morning").
Tom played two different Gibson Explorers. Rick played an LP, Tele, and Hamer (I think) with Beatles pix on it. Bun E. played an Oyster Black Ludwig Ringo set. He and Tom seemed to be holding the whole thing together.
Tom played note for note as did Bun E., but no one tried too hard for actual tone.
Very cool show, Geoff Emerick handling the sound board!
Encore was "All You Need Is Love", Rick playing a Rick 12 (solo and all!) on it. I was too far away to nail the exact model/vintage. 330 body style, FG. Could have been double-bound.
I took my 4 1/2 year old daughter, after sitting down with her the previous week and playing and talking about the album. She was transfixed,, recognized most of the songs (specially SFF and the "scarey" one, "Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite". She wanted to hear "Hey Bulldog", her current fave, I had to explain it weren't going to happen.
Audience of all ages, emphasis on Pepper's original demographics. Two blue-haired grandmotherly types in front of me were passing a pipe.
Cool to hear it live with full orchestra and Indian instruments. A splendid time was had by all.

Tom exclusively used Hamer 12's for many years.
Then he had a few built by Chandler guitars.
He now uses Waterstone basses, until the next builder comes along to give him freebies.
