It's a tough choice, but I'd have to go with CTTE as well. In totally non-technical terms, it's in large part because Chris' Rick has the optimum clankiness & presence in the mix (America is right there with it, as well as the Yessongs Fish), and Bruford's snare is at it's pongiest.

Fragile.

But I prefer The Yes Album over both Fragile and CTTE.

Okay...just to mix it up a bit, let's change this thread to "Underdog vs. Mighty Mouse".

America - what a snapshot of the classic Yes lineup - that version of the song never ceases to amaze and please me. Man do they cook! I like playing it back to back with the S&G original. They took it and made it their own, like they did with all the covers they did in the early albums.

And am I the only one who really really likes the Talk cd? For me it is like a continuation of the feeling in Awaken, but that one is very hard to top in itself.

Speaking of Underdog, I see the trailers for the new movie and then see Johnny Quest is going to be released as a movie, and just shake my head. Someone with a bright new idea needs to hit Hollywood.....

Close to the Edge gets my vote over Fragile. I also think "Talk" is a very good record, and one of the most ignored in the Yes catalog.

I like Talk a lot actually...but then I also prefer Underdog over Mighty Mouse.

John, I like Talk a lot as well, my only gripe with it was too much Jon & Trevor and not enough Chris. I was surprised when it didn't do well, but there are usually other factors that affect sales. Certainly the music was strong... And, until the 'boomers stop raping everything from their childhood for a buck, Hollywood isn't going to be producing anything new anytime soon. The past fifteen years have been pathetic for movie buffs, IMHO.
