Lastnight I tried to remove the pickup from the base plate to put some washers underneath the screws. Those screws are torqued so tight that the screw heads were starting to strip when I tried to loosen them. I didnt want to strip them so my pickup is just gonna have to stay a little loose. Its not bad anyway. It just moves in the slop of the mounting holes. And for it to even move you have to push it with your finger. Id doesn't seem to move with vibration. I rattled the **** out of the bass to see if I could hear it move while unplugged or plugged in and couldn't so I guess its not a big deal. Someone in the pickup assembly department at the Ric factory don't know there own strength, wow those screws are tight!
