I don't know what the dealer quoted you but we would have told them approximately 9 months, and in fact that looks to have been about right.
We don't discuss delivery schedules for music store orders with the consumers themselves because we have no idea what models are destined for whom nor are we privy to the dealer's plans as far as which retail customer might have priority.
There are other variable factors that might affect delivery as well, such as a dealer account over credit limit, etc.

Ditto, Phil - I got my 650D from Musician's Friend, also in October 02. At the time, they claimed to have 19 in stock.
Mine was shipped immediately, but went 'missing' somewhere between the UPS depot and my house. Its replacement arrived safely by FedX, after UPS finally admitted that they couldn't find the original.

I'm waiting for a 370/12 to clear Canadian customs as we speak. What a drag. It's been sitting in Fort Erie, Ontario, waiting for someone to do their bureaucratic thing for four days now. You can complain all you like about the wait times for Rickenbackers, but nothing compares to the frustration of waiting for the man to get his, ahem, stuff together. Oh, well. At least I'm not a junior member of the forum anymore. I think I'll pour myself a scotch and play some smoky, jazz-like nonsense on my 381v69 to celebrate.

I'm afraid it still hasn't cleared customs, James, but I expect that I will have to pay a significant amount in sales taxes and additional fees. I probably won't have to pay duty per se because of the trade agreement that exists between the U.S.A. and Canada, but certain charges still apply, and given the price of the 370/12 ($1399 U.S.), I expect to pay around four-hundred dollars Canadian. I haven't checked the exchange rates recently, but I think that puts it at around 280-300 Euro. Now, not all of that is tax. U.P.S. (who have done a terrible job tracking this package, I might add) charge a "brokerage fee" for paying all applicable taxes and duties up front on the importer's behalf. That fee will probably be around eighty dollars Canadian. The province I live in charges a 7 percent sales tax, and the federal government charges 8 percent, so that's 15 percent that has to be added on to the cost of the guitar. It's an expensive business, but a necessary one given where I live.
