In a sudden flash of brilliant inspiration,
I'll name my next band "One Hit Wonders", and do only those songs.(Now where did I put my beer....)

Mentioning The Tornados, I don't how big the modern day band Muse is in states, my grandson tells me they are a big deal here in UK.

The band leader and vocalist Matt Bellamy is the son of George Bellamy who was the Rhythm guitar in Tornados.

I never knew Earth Angel by The Penguins was a OHW. They had a great vocal sound, but then so did a lot of those type of 50's groups.

Our long-time drummer David Fore was in a one-hit wonder, Bubble Puppy, with "Hot Smoke and Sassafras".

Love that tune, Ronn...bought the 45 when it came out and it's still in the collection. Tell Dave 'thanks' for me.

Also in the same category: I picked up "Apricot Brandy" by Rhinoceros in a little record store in the Frankfurt Bahnhof on an eighth grade field trip...
I didn't get where I am today by being on time...

Bubble Puppy was fabulous band! The whole LP is great. Nobody sounded like them. Their playing and writing seemed to be at a notably higher level than most of the bands in that scene.
The guitar- road to ruin?

After all these years, I guess I still really love the sound of Brewer and Shipley's "One Toke Over the Line."
