Vinton meant nothing in UK only 3 top 40 hits, last one being in 1990 and his biggest hit over here, essentially due to the movie Blue Velvet.

However I concede that in States he was very popular, 30 top 40 hits compared to Bobby Vee's 14 and no doubt Vinton had even more based on top 100.

I always liked Blue on Blue. His voice does seem to have that certain something that you never seem to forget.

Ok though last week's may have caught some of you out but no, most of you correctly identified that it was Little Eva.

Kent's "clue" may have helped however

Tenuous link to Bobby Vee I hear you say song was written by Gerry Goffin of Goffin/King fame who wrote a number of hits for BV.

Little Eva was their baby sitter!

Little Eva! I've only heard the Locomotion by her. She was 13 or something wasn't she?

I thought the tenuous link was the song itself--both Little Eva and Bobby Vee covered it.

Mark

Stand corrected but was Bobby Vee's Run To Him not the original, therefore he can't have covered it.

True enough. Run to Him, Run to Her...

I wonder if Little Eva was a good babysitter?
