The Jeffersons!!! Great bouncy gospel bassline, with a great doublestop near the beginning! The closing theme is a slow variation of the opening theme and features some really tasty bass playing as well. (I remember all this because I just got the DVD set of the 1st season for $10 at Longs!)

As for a theme within the last 20 years, does Night Court count? Or is that older than 20 years...

I think "Sanford and Son" was always pretty funky.

Looking outside of the last 20 years, I'd say that some of the really classic themes would be The Man From UNCLE, Get Smart, Mission Impossible, The Wild Wild West, The Twilight Zone, and the twangy guitar of Bonanza.

"Doctor Who".... man, that still scares me!
The musical score was way ahead of it's time!

"Hawaii Five-O" has to be my favorite, but I remember liking lots of them.

"Sea Hunt" as the camera pulled back from Mike's boat after his pitch about the earth being covered by water

"Adventures in Paradise"

"Mission Impossible"

Heck I even liked the "Friends" theme...had kind of a Beatles tint to it.

Bill took my answer for memorable with "Friends" - by the Rembrandts I think. For some reason the Mad About You theme song gets stuck in my head all the time.

Another one for Hawaii Five-O.
If my band did surf music that would be my first choice to try.

But last twenty years? Hard to think of one.

Doesn't everybody know that there hasn't been any good music since about 1975? ;-)

Yeah, Friends theme was kind of catchy. I liked it.

Great Five-O themed song by Radio Birdman. One of the first songs my band covered back in my pre-Rick days.

Although I was pre-Rick, Radio Birdman certainly wasn't. Is that a 620?

Does the theme song from Dallas qualify? The show was aired through 1991.
