Yes, I posted that already a few days ago in the "Appraisal" section.

I've been meaning to insure mine for, oh, years. I do remember the thread here a long while ago. Wasn't a company named Heritage involved? IIRC, they wouldn't challenge you on your estimate of the instrument's worth.

Jerry you should definitely go ahead and do it. The peace of mind is worth it. Someone highly recommended Heritage to me. I went with MusicPro, but I'm sure both are good.

Jerry,

Heritage is, indeed, one of the companies listed in the A/G article.

Here is their web site:

Just adding some more good news about Heritage. When we moved to NOL, I set up a rider on our home insurance (USAA) which was very reasonable. Since I already had the Heritage policy, I figured I'd just let it run out as I assumed they might be skittish about insuring down here.

Well, just out of curiosity I gave them a call--quote remains exactly the same regardless of where you live!

So I'm going to keep that policy as well.

FWIW.

Bill, since I'm also w/ USAA I'd (and others might) be interested to hear why you think you need to have both.
Thanks!

Mark,

I guess not so much matter of needing both, but I figured given the potential for loss down here, it seemed like pretty inexpensive peace of mind.

After the wildfires being so close and my no being able to get all my possessions in my car, I spoke with a Farmers agent who frequents a bar we play. That bar is also the "home" of a fine local lawyer, just in case...hey you never know.
He specified that I am a hobbiest/collector and I don't make money with my music gear....he can get me a reasonable policy.
He's close on the not making money part...
I'll post the cost for this coverage after I get it this week if anyone's interested.

Sent you a PM, Jason. Excuse the "Rain Man' response but I just started posting @ RR the other day. Regards....Goofyfoot.
