Guys, seriously,
IT WORKS,
:)

(or, in other words - our disk space IS limited)

That is why I advocate loading up the photo on some other web site than the RRF web site, and then linking to it using the IMG button in the new post editor. Uses zero disk space on your server then, GIl! :)

Gil if I understand this correctly, when a picture is uploaded to another server such as photobucket and we use a url link in out posts, does the picture not go on the forum's server and is just referenced here and not taking up the forum's disk space or is it too taking up disk space as if we uploaded to the forum's server using the 'upload attachment' feature?

True.
however:
  1. Images taken from a different site are abusing, in a way the services of the other site.
  2. Images taken from a different site might not be there in a year or so and then we will end up with broken links.
I am not saying this is bad, all I am saying that if you think that you want your image to be in the forum "forever" you better upload it to the forum. If you wish to be space-conscience and you don't care that the image won't be there in the distant future - by all means - save the space :)

In other words, let's be reasonable in our file sizes unless absolutely neccesary! :!:

I've been using Photolava to host pics on the web since Photobucket is blocked at work, it's free and works good for me. Since a lot of people will be using Photobucket here that mean's I'm not going to see a lot of pics at work, that's where I do a majority of my Rickresource surfing. Oh well, I guess I should be working even though I don't get paid for quantity, I get paid for "quality" assurance. Here's my test pics from Photolava.
