Wh\ay back when when I did the song, I did it in C...and the verse was C-Gm7....seems to me I found it in one of those "Greatest Hits of 1965 " books they published back then...where the accuracy was not always a priority (I have a crazy story about a go-round with a bandmate about two months ago over the chords for Lucy in the Sky...he had one of those old books that had them all screwed up...like it was transcribed by "Tommy" they were that far off...but he insisted that since it was printed...and copyrighted it had to be correct....)

C-gm7 sounded right...and transposes to E-Bm7 in E
