I have a dirty little secret too - I like the music of Ian Anderson and Bobby Fripp

I mean, a LOT. And early Moody Blues too....
For me, a delightful afternoon is a solid 45 minutes of Thick As A Brick.
To wake up in the morning, give me Lark's Tongue In Aspic and some of that frenetic, cocaineish methish super-fast guitar riffing of Bobby's, and Bill Bruford's drums...
Then, sometimes when the temptation is high and the lights are low, the wife and kids are out of town, I get a whole box of bubble gum out, from my Secret Desk Drawer. You have one too, don't you, c'mon admit it. The one you keep locked, the one that holds all your stash of adult toys.
I stuff a huge wad of bubble gum into my mouth to get the mood going, open a bottle of pop, riffle through the pile of magazines and the plain-brown covers of those paperback books with dogears that fill the back of The Drawer, seize the desired jacket, whip it out, and ..... play Every Good Boy Deserves Favour

cover to cover
I would never have been bold enough to admit any of this in public, except for all those years of Meetings every week to discuss my dark addictions....
There. Now you all know....

I'm not all that embarrassed by any of the artists I like. I even admit to having liked NickHeyward/Haircut 100 and Duran Duran.
Oh, and I like Kate Bush as well.

Duran Duran?

That's another band I used to love when I was a teenager, but now I don't think I could stomach them!

I dunno, play the "all night" version of either "Planet Earth", "Girls On Film", "Hold Back the Rain" or "Rio" and you'll probably just involuntarily start doing those teenage-ingrained new wave dance moves!

here's another one...Paulo Nutini
I saw him on TV a couple times, sounded pretty good, but I understand he's quite popular with teenage girls which is a red flag.
secondly, Italian Scottsmen are a tuff consept for me. I keep thinking of Angus Putgorney from Monty Python. this guy has a broge so thick he probably needs a translator to get around Glascow

Uh.....The Kingston Trio, I think. At least when I was 6 years old, I thought they were cool. First time I'd ever heard a banjo. Fortunately, I don't have any of their records.

I have liked (and still like) many of the pop bands mentioned here especially Herman's Hermits and most BeeGees. Once I like something I almost always like it forever. I have just built on my early likes. I do have to admit I hated a few of these "confessional" singers also.
I don't think King Crimson or Jethro Tull belongs in this list, no one should ever have to "admit" liking them, they were great musicians by anyone's standards.
