I certainly agree with the comment that Rics are not for everyone. Based on his comment about tapping, it seems the friend is looking for something totally different in a guitar. Honestly, I thought this guy was pullng our leg. Anyone who believes strongly about something is apt to have his chain yanked about it on occasion. For what it is worth, I have never had a guitar with lower action at high frets than my 330. Hmm...perhaps John should have added some tapping to his solo in You Can't Do That. That would have been really cool...

I'm tapping one of my 330's right now as I type ... it has a nice hollow sound if you tap it up on the higher bout near the slash and it gets kind of a sharper sound as you tap towards the tailpiece.
