DHL is 0/4 with me. I've rearranged work and weekends to sit at home to sign for packages that are scheduled to arrive and that per tracking say they are going to arrive....only to have an "oh...well it's not going to be today. They'll deliver it tomorrow". Grrr......

Zero for four was their record with me, too, after 4 deliveries...
Next day after scheduled day? Had I not gone down there on the THIRD day after it weas scheduled, it would still be in the warehouse. I've sent a looonnnggg email to the prez. Wanna bet I get a form letter back?

Paul ---- a side note on this thread of yours.
I happen to work managing a public warehouse. A couple of days ago I had some customer calling and complaining about why we didn't get their stuff out DHLin a timely manner, the whole 9 yards, upset at our company and our people, saying we were making them to loose sales, etc. They had a bunch of heavy cartons at our warehouse and DHL didn't send a trailer (it was more than their courier pack guy could handle in his small vehicle) and as you have well documented, there's no way to trace things or get a straight answer or talk to a "local" dispatch person at DHL.
Well thankfully, I had remembered the stuff you and others detailed here in this RRF thread, and so I defended our people with facts learned here on RRF and told the customer its an industry problem, that lots of people in all kinds of situations suffer from the DHL neglect, the lack of accountability with their third-party, inability to speak to a DHL person, etc. etc. and told them that its well documented on web-sites where people complain about DHL negligence !
Thank you very much. Was able to get this complainer placated. RRF to the rescue, once again !!!
The next afternoon, after all this uproar, DHL sent their trailer here.
Regards - Rich F.

Paul, everybody, spread the word. Tell your friends, tell your friend to tell their friends. This is what the corporates fear the most, word of mouth. Post this to every forum you know and then email the links to DHL.

I'm a little hesitant to speak up, but my experience with DHL is 4/4. In every case I took the item to the DHL shipping facility and the destination was somewhere in CA. The cost was almost half what UPS charged and got there in half the time. In every instance it was delivered on time to the right place. In fact, I had just shipped the most recent item when this thread started. Needless to say, I was glued to the website and the person on the receiving end, probably thought I had gone email crazy.
Maybe it was all beginner's luck, but your collective experiences have pretty much convinced me not to trust them again. I've probably used up all the DHL lives I have....maybe some of yours too.

We use DHL at work and have no problems. Smaller urban area though.

So
you're the guy!!! I had heard rumors of someone who was getting his deliveries done on time, and it was throwing the whole DHL system off.
Hopefully you'll stop using them so I can get down to only three or four days late...

All of a sudden I feel like the guy in the VISA commercial who tries to pay with cash....

I know when not to push my luck.

Yeah, this won't make you feel any better Paul, but my luck with DHL has been perfect as well. I've bought four Rics from Gary, all arrived in perfect condition exactly when scheduled. Three were delivered out in the boonies in So. MD. The fourth one was delivered down here in NOLA.
Just last month, at literally the 11th hour, my wife ordered a chrome stand from Gary for my AC30 (my fault, not hers, I didn't tell her I wanted one till she asked me to tell her what I wanted for Christmas) . It arrived a couple days before Christmas, again as scheduled.
I think the majority of delivery problems are local in nature--I had issues similar to yours with a UPS distro center in Rockville, MD--even UPS National couldn't get those guys to do their jobs--the Customer Service agent at the National center commiserated with me! On the rare occasions I got hold of someone at the Rockville Center, I got scripture quotes for my trouble...was quite tempted numerous times to offer a few in response from the book of Bill

Your account, Bill, verifies what I have told DHL--that it's the local SF office that's screwed up.

I have had no troble with DHL. They have always delivered on time and their delivery time is less than UPS. I know Gary at NCM uses DHL and he ships a ton of guitars. Anyway, just my input.
