Do I have to stick to rock/pop groups? OK here goes, I guess. In no particular order
The Beatles (of course)
The Byrds (naturally)
Tom Petty (as you certainly would have expected)
Roger McGuinn's solo stuff including his Folk Den Project (by now predictable)
C.S.& N. (ditto)
Chuck Berry
Les Fradkin
Starry Eyed And Laughing (an English band that was either too late, or too early to get in on the real jingle/jangle sound. But jangle they did!)
Pure Prairie League
Dick Betts (OK, so he plays a Gibson LP, but he's one of the few LP pickers IMHO who can make himself identifiable in just a half bar of music.)
Whew! That's 10. Had a hard time not slipping into folk music, country music, Western Swing, or bluegrass.

Now that's a great list. I might pull Radiohead and Arctic Monkeys and replace 'em with The Pretenders and of course put XTC at the top of the list, but other than that, PERFECT.
