Ah, so that was one of the infamous black tailpieces that are weakened by the powder coating heat process. Did the finish crack, etc. when it was straightened? With the extra screws, it won't bend again! I always thought the 7 screw design was a good idea...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

No crack,s etc., actually. I did the rebending over about two months in very small increments, about one adjustment a week.
