It is a 1967 bona-fide 4005H Fireglo. I bought it at a pawn shop in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee in 1985. I saw it in the window and knew it was mine. Evidently a touring musician got stranded in town and needed cash. I played it, talked to the owners, let them stew for a month, then talked them down to $225. Original case included. Even for a poor university student that was a good deal, but of course no one knew what a 4005 was worth then.
If you hear anything crashing in the background, that's the sound of me fainting!
Hang on to it, it might be worth a little more today!

Nice 67 and MM FL Daniel...You'll find quite a few 4005's here!
Light gauge strings are the way to go on most older basses. D'Addario 40-95's go well on my 60's basses and usually the action comes down a little as there's not that stress on the neck.
I've been thinking myself about looking for a Pre EB fretless model for a while too. Jacob, just listen to early Pino Palladino to hear what a MM FL should sound like!

Sorry, I have had the Stingray for only a few weeks. Haven't even gigged it yet.
It does sound nice, though. Almost as unique as a Rick...
