It's John's company and he can be any way he wants about it without any considerations whatsoever for copyright infringers. It's very expensive to produce a new instrument. You want a 4005 with 4002 electrics, buy a used one and have it done. It would cost less than it would if Rickenbacker built one from scratch. When I want something the factory doesn't offer, I have a real Rick modified to suit my tastes and needs.
