There are probably fmuch ewer Sea Green Ricks, because at the time people weren't thinking about buying a COY guitar as an investment. If Sea Green was the most recent COY, there would be a very high number of orders for them.
Guitars have become like so many things that years ago, no one would have thought about becoming a collectible item. I walk through antique stores with my wife and see the prices that are on some things and I say to myself, they want how much $$ for THAT!! Much of it seems like junk to me, but I guess some people buy this stuff.

Greg I would like to see your BB 230 when its finished that would be nice
There are a lot of people that want to see it. Once I get it all done I'll be putting up a post with lots of pics. I really miss it as it was my first guitar and base a lot of the sound of a lot of my songs off that sound that guitar makes. It looks killer but I need to find the time to finish the fretwork and get it restrung. One of these days.....

Getting props for the way you play your Rickenbacker as well as for its color are both good for your soul. FWIW though, I'd much rather receive a compliment for the sound and the way I played than for the guitar's color. The latter makes little or no impact on the end result, which is makin' music. It's a color ~~ no more, no less. Yes, buying a Rickenbacker is an investment.....for makin' music, not a profit. Whatever floats the next person's boat is cool with me. It's all copacetic. Just my "due centisimi's" worth. Ci veriamo.....Goofyfoot.
