I would love to see an actual FACTORY produced version of a 360 bass, kind of a baby 4005.

I actually was considering having one made in Medium scale for some time now, just taking a beat up 360 and having Paul W. work his magic on it.

Being an OLD guy with a horrible back, I personally would LOVE something light & easy on the back from RIC. I'm not too fond of my clunky Michael Kelly.
My 4001's & 4003's aren't bad at all, but something along the weight of a Hofner would be GREAT. I had to sell off my Alembic's just due to the fact that their weight killed me after just a short time playing.

If I'm lucky, and I'm on this earth for a little longer, I don't see it getting any easier to keep playing. Anything that can keep me playing a RIC is a good thing IMHO!

"No, Triple horseshoes! And I've got just the bass for it. My '79 4005!"

I think Graham G still has the triple toaster JG 4005 that I thought about for too long many moons ago...

Graham?

If so, I wanna see a pic! I really think that RIC should have either made the 4005 with 3 pickups, or put the bridge pickup in the 4001 location (with two pickups).

Not sure how it would look, but I'm sure I'd like the sound better and I'd have a place to anchor my thumb.

It definitely would have been a little more versatile with some small refinements, but I can't complain, I really love the sound of the 4005. The no-place-to-anchor-thumb thing worried me at first, but I found that when I was onstage with it, I simply wasn't thinking about it, and would kind of be on autopilot. I'd keep it on the E string sometimes, and just floating sometimes.
