I believe John Hall has stated that when RIC issued replacement jackplates, they were coded XX or ZZ. I'm not sure if that is still being done though.

The Rick Jack plate is the feature of Ricks that I like the least; the sharp corners on the plate or any rough edges on the screw slots can potentially snag clothing or dig into the padding of the case. When having a deluxe conversion done to a 330, I considered buying a pair of electrosocket type mounts: http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics ... Mount.html

I thought the latter might be a more aesthetically pleasing, if non-standard way of mounting the jacks. They're also a bit less expensive than trying to find an ROS jack plate!

Ric is not very spare parts friendly these days ...

Actually, they are better with their spare parts than several other companies. Try to buy a pickup from Erinie Ball/Musicman.

+1 I have to say my experience with getting parts from RIC has been very positive. Outside of the white-on-black TRCs being extinct (no replacement for one with a broken tip) and the RIHS not available, I've gotten what I need.

"Someday (perhaps soon?) new technology will present a way to tie together many of the parts of any particular instrument, not just a jackplate by itself."

- Paul, I do hope what you say comes true... it would be nice to be able to keep the fakers a little farther away from the market place.
